Through Borough of Somerville, through a shared service initiative with the Somerset County Engineering Department, provides all roadway construction and engineering related services to the Borough.
The Borough employs a full-time, Assistant to the Engineer who is located in Borough Hall to assist with any questions regarding Engineering related issues.
Somerville’s Voluntary Sidewalk Improvement Program for Residential Property Owners
The Sidewalk Improvement Program allows residents to replace all or part of an existing sidewalk, or driveway apron. You may also install a new sidewalk where none currently exists.
The Borough will assemble the applications, advertise and award the construction contact, and inspect the work to ensure quality.
The Sidewalk Improvement Program for Residential Property Owners is an excellent opportunity to make sidewalk repairs or installations that you may have been putting off. It is another way we’re making Somerville a better place for all of us.
