A Main Street New Jersey Community
Mission
The Downtown Somerville Alliance exists to promote and enhance the economic well-being and growth of Somerville’s Historic Downtown District.
Vision
In 2013, Historic Downtown Somerville will have a destination retail mix consisting of a blend of unique, individually-owned and brand-name stores and restaurants creating sustainable consumer demand. The downtown will have an alive, inviting day and night-time environment for residents, visitors, workers and professionals. Our Main Street will host signature and other events to attract new audiences and will be Somerset County’s downtown.
Goals

Economic
Create an aesthetically pleasing, well-marketed environment that attracts customers to a balanced business mix that fosters retail, service and restaurant prosperity.
Social
To engage and partner with area community organizations and entities who have or could have events and activities in the district to attract new audiences in creating Somerville as Somerset County’s downtown destination.
