Vision Plan Report
Presented to the Somerville Planning Board on January 10th, 2007
Introduction
The landfill Vision Plan Report was presented to the Somerville Planning
Board
on Wednesday the 10th of January 2007, by Mr. Rob Lane of the Regional
Plan
Association.
Mr. Lane was the project leader for the public process that led to the creation of
this report. This final comprehensive document explains the process used to
create the public vision and continues to detail the vision itself.
Following the presentation of the report, Planning Board was asked to vote on
accepting this vision plan and that it be forwarded to the Borough Council with a
recommendation that it be adopted as the official Vision Plan for the Landfill
Redevelopment Area.
This plan and report was presented to the Borough Council at its meeting on
January 16th, 2007 held in the council meeting room at South Bridge Street.
Mr. Lane made a short presentation explaining how the Plan and Report was
generated. The meeting was opened to the Public for questions. Following
question time the adoption of this plan was voted upon by the council, it was
adopted unanimously and now is the Official Vision Plan for the Landfill
Redevelopment project.
The Planning Board will now commence revising the Landfill Redevelopment
Plan to include the concepts and principles contained in the Vision Plan.
Copies of the Vision Plan are available to download through the Borough web
site at www.somervillenj.org, and available in print from the Borough
Administrator’s office.
