Roger Vroom

3-year term: January 3, 2023 to December 31, 2025

Originally from South Plainfield, Roger and his wife Beth decided to make Somerville their home in the summer of 2006. Roger is currently the Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts for the township of Edison. Roger earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Rutgers Graduate School of Education.

Roger was appointed to the Council to finish out the remainder of Dennis Sullivan’s term when he was elected Mayor. He was then elected to a 3-year term in 2019 and again in 2022.

As a member of Council, Roger is chair of the Fire Committee and vice-chair of the Police Committee. He is liaison to the First Aid & Rescue Squad, Board of Education, Sewerage Authority and Veterans Affairs.

Roger and Beth have 3 children enrolled in Somerville schools, Nathan, Benjamin and Leah. The entire family enjoys walking downtown and frequenting the various restaurants Somerville has to offer.
