Executive Director – Special Improvement District

The Borough of Somerville is seeking a dynamic, full-time director looking for an excellent and challenging opportunity to manage one of New Jersey’s premier downtown districts.

The Downtown Somerville Alliance, Inc., (DSA) is a non-profit Special Improvement District with a 9-member volunteer Board of Trustees and a corporate board member. The Executive Director runs day-to-day operations with a $930,000 budget and 2 full-time staff members and works in collaboration with the Borough, under the direction of the Board.

Operations include managing finances, events, staff, contract administration, marketing, and social media. The Board seeks a qualified director with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to coordinate events and activities that promote the district and foster relationships with the business community is a must. The Board desires a creative leader that can expand the reach of downtown Somerville through beneficial collaborative partnerships. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and managerial experience.
