Tire Drop-off for County Farmers & Residents

MANVILLE - The Somerset County Division of Solid Waste Management is partnering with the Manville Department of Public Works, located at 10 Gladys Ave., to collect old scrap tires, with or without rims. 

 

County residents can drop off up to eight tires per household from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 14, 15, and 16 and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17.  The program is free. 

 

Tires also may be dropped off at the county Recycling Center, located at 40 Polhemus Lane in Bridgewater, as part of the First Saturday of the Month drop-off program.   The next drop-off dates are Sept. 10, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

The tire drop-off program is funded through a grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

 

Residents wishing to program their GPS navigation systems or use an online search for directions to the Manville Department of Public Works should enter 10 Gladys Ave., Manville, NJ 08835 as the street address.

Following are directions to the Manville Department of Public Works:

 

From the North (Finderne / Bridgewater area) - Less than 2 miles:

Take CR-533 South into Manville - turns into North Main Street

After going under the train overpass (turns into South Main Street), go through two traffic lights

Make fourth left onto William Street

Go one block

DPW building is on the corner of William and Gladys

 

From the South (Millstone area) - Approximately 2.3 miles:

Take CR-533 North into Manville - South Main Street

After going under the train overpass, go through two traffic lights

Make first right onto William Street

Go one block

DPW building is on the corner of William and Gladys

 

From the West (Raritan / Hillsborough-Route 206) - Approximately 2.5 miles:

Take Dukes Parkway East (CR608) or Brooks Boulevard into Manville

Make a right onto North Main Street

After going under the train overpass (turns into South Main Street), go through two traffic lights

Make fourth left onto William Street

Go one block

DPW building is on the corner of William and Gladys
