The owners of the 50 Kirby Avenue property have arranged for asbestos to be removed from flooring and pipe insulation in the building on Tuesday, July 26. This is a limited effort with respect to just these two features of the building, and both the State of New Jersey and the EPA have been notified of this asbestos removal.
This limited work was scheduled now because the building must be asbestos-free in order to file for a demolition permit in the future.
The owner will be discussing future plans at the forthcoming council meeting on Monday, August 1.
