Main St update: PSE&G will not work overnight on Thursday, November 16. They will work overnight on Friday, November 17, starting at about 7 pm. Plan for lane shifts and no parking from Maple St to Grove St. This is the last day for night work until January.
Monday, November 13 to Saturday, November 18
- Main St (N. Bridge St intersection): OVERNIGHT from Wednesday to Friday. Lane shifts (Maple St to Grove St), from 8 pm to 5 am, with traffic control setting up around 7 pm. There will be no parking in this area.
- Main St (between James St and Loeser Ave): Installing main and connecting services
- Culver St (between Bartine St and E Cliff St): Installing main and connecting services
- PSE&G is planning to add more locations this week and will notify Somerville Police to redirect traffic.
About this project
PSE&G is working in Somerville to replace gas mains and services. This work is Phase 1 of a 10-12 month gas construction project. All crews will first finish installing new mains and then proceed to connect service lines.
Expect an increase in traffic, loud noise, and presence of heavy equipment and machinery in these areas. All work is pending weather and availability of materials.
Garbage collection
Plan for an earlier pickup while roads are under construction. Please put trash out the night before collection.
