PSE&G is planning to add more locations this week. They will notify Somerville Police who will redirect traffic, as needed.
Monday, November 6 to Saturday, November 11
- Main Street (N. Bridge St intersection): OVERNIGHT on Wednesday and Thursday. Lane shifts (Maple St to Grove St), from 8 pm to 5 am, with traffic control setting up around 7 pm. There will be no parking in this area.
- Main St (between James St and Loeser Ave): Installing main and connecting services
- Culver St (between Bartine St and E. Cliff St): Installing main and connecting services
- PSE&G will also continue paving the streets where they completed replacing the gas mains and services.
About this project
PSE&G is working in Somerville to replace gas mains and services. This work is Phase 1 of a 10-12 month gas construction project. All crews will first finish installing new mains and then proceed to connect service lines.
Expect an increase in traffic, loud noise, and presence of heavy equipment and machinery in these areas. All work is pending weather and availability of materials.
Garbage collection
Plan for an earlier pickup while roads are under construction. Please put trash out the night before collection.
