The Mayor and Council will hold a Special Council Meeting:
- Date: December 29, 2025
- Time: 5 pm (we expect the public session to start at approximately
5:45 pm5:30 pm) - Location: Somerville Civic Center, 24 Robeson Street

The meeting will begin at 5 pm with the adoption of a resolution authorizing an executive session. The Council will then enter executive session, which is not open to the public, to discuss affordable housing challenges.
After the executive session is completed, the Mayor and Council will reconvene in public session. Formal action may be taken at that time.
Public notice
Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Somerville shall have a Special Council meeting on December 29, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Somerville Civic Center at 24 Robeson Street, Somerville, New Jersey. The meeting shall start at 5:00 p.m. upon the adoption of a resolution authorizing Executive Session, the Council Meeting shall immediately enter into Executive Session to discuss the following matter (executive session is not open to the public).
1. “Affordable Housing” challenges
Following the completion of the Executive Session, the Mayor and Council shall reconvene in public session, at which time formal action may be taken.
