Peters Brook habitat restoration
Join us as we plant native species in the new garden bed near the path behind and below the gazebo at Van Fleet Gardens. Learn more about this restoration project.
- Date: Saturday, October 11
- Time: 9 am
- Location: Van Fleet Garden gazebo
- Bring: Gardening gloves, hand tools, water, sun and mosquito protection.
Work includes:
- Planting small herbaceous native plants in the new bed
- Laying/spreading mulch
- Digging holes
- Possible weeding
- Installing wire fencing to keep out deer

Carol Pager Park rain gardens
We’re replanting native species in the rain gardens across from the YMCA. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers, these important green infrastructure features have already seen major improvements this year. Now, we’re filling in gaps left by the removal of invasive species and weeds.

- Location: Carol Pager Park (near the parking lot/concession stand)
- Bring: Gardening gloves, hand tools, water, sun and mosquito protection.
