Register a property or business for fire safety inspections

We conduct annual inspections of buildings in Somerville, except for single and 2-family homes. Property and business owners need to register with the Fire Prevention department.

For property owners, this is part of the Certificate of Continued Occupancy process.

For a business, you need to submit this form twice:

• First, by the building owner
• Second, by the business owner when they setup their new business

Need to know

• Annual fees based on the square footage.

2. Submit the form.
3. Pay the annual fee.
